Kangiqsujuaq 2010

This was our first trip to Wakeham Bay ! The youth had amazing rhythm and a whole set of Brazilian drums which they had been trained on by a teacher who came from the south. We incorporated the drums into the week and often danced just to the drums. We were stuck here a few days due to weather but went and collected lots of mussels with the youth. Dr Step on our team cooked up a feast for us. We also hung out at the residence with the secondary 6 students and appreciated being welcomed in. Marion James treated us to some home cooking and we got to do string games with an Elder. Lots of love in this community.
