Kuujjuarapik

Our first project in Nunavik and sponsored and fully supported by the Kativik School Board (KSB). Many thanks to Bruna, Anna, Judy and Dave from KSB. Wow -what a supportive team at the school. Everyone was busy helping cook food for the youth, helping with the art pieces, and actively participating. We were blessed to have Sylvia Cloutier and Akinisie Sivuarapik involved for throat singing and traditional drumming and Taqralik Partridge showcased some spoken word Inuit style ! There was an amazing documentary produced by KSB that was shown on APTN (Aboriginal Public Television Network), and it was produced in three languages. (English French, and Inuktitut). There was a great community showcase and celebration on the final day and an amazing large graffiti mural produced which states “Respect Each Other” in Inuktitut. Thanks for having us ! We hope to return someday.
