BluePrint For Life is proud to announce the opening of our Nunavut office.
Meeka Paniloo has joined the BluePrint team as our Territorial Coordinator and she will serve as a first point of contact for communities in Nunavut interested in our programs. Meeka is a mother of 3 and grew up in Clyde River where she currently resides. Meeka currently works at IIisaqsivik Society in Clyde River as a Youth Advocate and Counselor
Meeka has worked closely with the BluePrint for Life Team on our past two projects in Clyde River and currently runs the ongoing Hiphop program in Clyde River. Her Son John is also an active participant in the program and according to Meeka - Hiphop has helped save her family and her relationship with her son.
The success they have had is truly a remarkable story working with youth in the community and positive comments of support have been echoed by the Elders, Public Health, the RCMP, the Local Wellness Center and the Circuit Court Judge. Meeka has grown not only as a leader for the youth in her town, but has also become a strong role model for other adults in her community. She recently attended one of Canada’s Largest Hiphop events in Ottawa with two Clyde River youth - where they performed and were publicly praised for their accomplishments.
Meeka will also be attending many future Blue Print projects as a staff member , but she will also be available to followup with communities that have had our “Social Work Through Hiphop” program as to how to sustain and grow the program locally. She will also be involved in helping select various youth in Nunavut who have completed our program, to be considered to attend future projects as teaching assistants. Building connections through youth in the various communities of the North will also be an ongoing role for Meeka.
Blueprint for life is committed to helping grow strong local leaders in the North and building Healthier Communities. Meeka Paniloo is a welcome addition to our team.
